Last month, BBC Radio 2 host and Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two host Zoe Ball announced she’d be stepping down from the BBC dance show spin-off after almost a decade in the presenter’s chair. And while speculation has been rife as to who would be stepping into her shoes, Alex Jones and Ronan Keating confirmed it would be Strictly pro dancer Janette Manrara taking charge during Thursday’s The One Show.
Manrara joined Jones and Keating in The One Show studio to express their excitement at taking over from Ball.
The Strictly Come Dancing professional will work alongside Rylan Clark-Neal to bring fans the latest from behind the scenes of the hit dance show.
Speaking about landing the presenting role, which means Manrara will be stepping down from dancing duties, she said: “It’s a dream come true to become part of the It Takes Two team!
“Although it’s impossible to fill in the shoes of a legend like Zoe Ball, I hope to make her and all of the Strictly fans proud.

“I will miss dancing on that iconic dance floor weekly, but forever grateful to continue being a part of the Strictly Come Dancing family!”
Executive Producer of It Takes Two, Eve Winstanley, also expressed her excitement at Manrara taking over.
She said alongside the announcement: “We are so excited that Janette will be Cha Cha Cha-ing her way into the It Takes Two family.
Her love and passion for all things dance will bring something new and fresh to the show.”
Ball first announced her departure on her Instagram page on May 17, penning a lengthy statement to her 593k followers.
The former It Takes Two star wrote: “Dance lovers, after 10 joyous years I am waltzing away from It Takes Two.
“As a massive @bbcstrictly fan I have loved spending my Autumn teatimes with the celebrity dancers, the gorgeous & awesome pro dancers, the judges, my girl Vicky Gill, Rylan, Gethin & of course my main man Ian Waite.
“Time now for some new cha cha challenges. I will continue to support the Strictly family on the Breakfast Show & can’t wait to watch the Class Of 2021 from my sofa.
“Huge love & grateful thanks to Tess & Claude & the whole Strictly clan, the ITT fans, my Glam Squad, Eve Winstanley, Alex McLeod, the BBC2 gang, & of course the best telly crew ever.”
Ball signed off the emotional post: “I will miss you all immensely. As Iveta would say ‘Friends for the life’ xx.”
