‘Highly pathogenic’ bird flu outbreak VERY close to UK – list of possible symptoms

Avian flu can spread to humans by close contact with the infected bird.

It doesn’t matter whether the animal is dead or alive, according to the health service.

Anything from touching the bird and its droppings to preparing it could pose a risk.

As the strain found in France hasn’t been identified, it’s not clear whether it can be transmitted to humans.
