The new Disney Plus series follows Renner’s character Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, as he takes his kids to New York City to watch a Broadway musical about Captain America.

As is often the case with superheroes, plans change quickly as Hawkeye tells his protege Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) about being hunted by dangerous men.

The trailer is set to the Andy Williams holiday classic It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year, with Barton telling his family over a holiday meal, ‘It’s gonna be the best Christmas ever.’

He reveals that he took his young children Lila (Ava Russo) and Nathaniel (Cade Woodward) to New York City.

They took in the Broadway play Rogers: The Musical, about the life of former Captain America Steve Rogers, as we see Clint reacting oddly to the production.

He’s telling this all to Kate Bishop as they ride in a cab, as she says that, ‘Sounds pretty cool to me.’

But then Barton revealed, ‘people started trying to kill us,’ as we see a shot of men throwing a Molotov cocktail into a building, which Clint catches and throws back.

He’s also seen talking to his wife Laura, who says, ‘Let me guess, you’re gonna need another day,’ as Barton responds, ‘Or two.’

Hawkeye is seen fleeing from gunfire while telling his wife that, ‘things have gotten complicated.’

He’s also seen squaring off with a group men getting out of a van, as Clint says, ‘You probably should’ve brought more guys,’ when more get out and he says, ‘Oh, you did.’

The trailer winds down with a number of quick shots including one dramatic shot where Clint and Kate jump off a bridge and pull their bows out.

They’re both seen in a car chase as Clint tells Kate they’re out of ‘regular arrows’ and gives her some ‘trick arrows.’

She fires one at the pursuing van and it explodes, as she looks back at Clint and says, ‘There are arrows more dangerous than that one?’ but he doesn’t answer.

The two are seen standing side by side firing arrows at unseen enemies with the final shot showing Clint saying, ‘This is some Christmas.’

While she’s not seen in the trailer, Hawkeye also marks the return of Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova from Marvel’s Black Widow movie.
