Gogglebox Australia star Yvie Jones addresses rumours she’s set to appear on Married At First Sight’s ‘celebrity spinoff series’


Channel Nine is rumoured to be cooking up a spinoff series of Married At First Sight exclusively featuring celebrity participants.

And on Monday, Yvie Jones addressed rumours she is set to appear on the celebrity spinoff series.

‘Absolutely not. There is a rumour there is going to be a celebrity one. I would never. I would rather cheese grate my nipples,’ Yvie said.

‘The normal one is bad enough, imagine how bad a celebrity version would be,’ she added.

According to New Idea, producers already have a list of celebrities they hope to cast on the rumoured new format of MAFS.

The names include Richard Reid, Yvie, Ash Williams, Tully Smyth, Harry T and Paulini Curuenavuli who have been ‘mentioned’ by casting directors.

A anonymous producer for Endemol told the magazine it was important to ‘change things up’ for the show.

‘If we want the show to keep going, and change things up,’ they told the publication.

The insider added that celebrities have been lining-up for a career boost due to the show’s popularity.

‘The truth is, the show has made some of the participants household names, and now some household names need a career boost,’ they said.

‘That’s the MAFS machine.’
