Gary Lineker pays touching Gerald Sinstadt tribute after 'wonderful' TV icon dies aged 91


Gary Lineker has paid a touching tribute to former commentator Gerald Sinstadt, who died at the age of 91 on Wednesday. Sinstadt was one of football’s most instantly-recognisable voices after working in the game for more than 40 years.

Lineker took to social media on Wednesday night to pay his respects.

“Saddened to hear that Gerald Sinstadt has left us,” Lineker wrote on Twitter. “A wonderful broadcaster and brilliant wordsmith with such a distinctive voice. RIP Gerald.”
