Gary Lineker mocks Man Utd as David De Gea howler gifts Atalanta goal

Gary Lineker poked fun at Manchester United after they conceded an early goal away to Atalanta in the Champions League. Josip Ilcic fired a low drive straight at David De Gea and his effort was spilt into the net with just 12 minutes on the clock.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was feeling the heat following a 5-0 thrashing against Liverpool in the Premier League.

The Norwegian eased some pressure by beating struggling Tottenham 3-0 at the weekend.

But his position could once again come under the spotlight with a defeat away to Atalanta.

United made the worst possible start as they fell behind early on because of De Gea’s error, unable to keep out Ilcic’s shot which arrived through the legs of Luke Shaw.

Lineker, who quit as BT Sport’s Champions League presenter at the end of last season, took to Twitter to taunt the Red Devils.

He wrote: “United are back….in the mire.”
