Enzo Fittipaldi 'awake in hospital' after F2 Saudi GP crash as detail of injuries emerge


The distressing crash resulted in a lengthy red flag in Jeddah, and the race was then shortened to 20 minutes and one lap.

The race came to a premature end after Guilherme Samaia and Olli Caldwell were involved in another crash.

Half points were eventually awarded to everyone, with Oscar Piastri crossing the finish line first.

“The FIA advises that an incident occurred during the FIA Formula 2 Feature Race start today, 05/12/21, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, involving car #10, Theo Pourchaire, and car #14, Enzo Fittipaldi,” read an FIA statement on Sunday.

“The drivers were immediately attended to by emergency and medical crews. The drivers were conscious and extricated by the attending medical crews.
