Drivers warned de-icer solution is 'not the best thing' for car paintwork in damage risk

“If you have time and the right tools for the job, winter mornings will no longer be a frantic, stressful start to the day.”

Drivers must always remove frost and ice from their car windscreen before setting off on winter mornings.

Failure to do so could become a road safety risk and see drivers issued with penalties.

Rule 229 of the Highway Code said drivers “MUST be able to see” before setting off.
