Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is very familiar with J.J. Watt, having spent seven years with him as a teammate on the Houston Texans.
He’d evidently like to be Watt’s teammate on the Cards.
Hopkins posted a photo of him and Watt photoshopped in Cardinals uniforms together on Instagram Wednesday.
The caption to the photo: “Let’s finish what we started.”
Several sites have listed odds for Watt’s next team after he was released by the Texans last week.
The Cardinals aren’t included in many of those odds, but one, DraftKings SportsBook, did have Arizona at +1600 to land the defensive standout, 14th in its list.
Watt, 32, was due to make $17.5 million in his final year with the Texans in 2021, but none of it was guaranteed.
Watt had five sacks, 14 tackles for loss, 17 quarterback hits, seven pass breakups, an interception and two forced fumbles last season, his 10th in the league – all of them spent in Houston since he was a first-round pick in 2011.

Watt is expected to have many suitors, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, where his brothers Derek and T.J. play.
Interestingly, Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster commented on Hopkins’ Instagram post.
His message: “come play with your brothers lol”.
Hopkins continued his pitch to Watt to come to Arizona with a weather-related response to Smith-Schuster.
He had a saguaro emoji and then a snowflake emoji with a question mark, suggesting it was a no-brainer to pick the warmer climate.
His message with the emojis: “you not tired of wearing north faces yet lol.”
