Emma Stoneis “brilliant,” “bad” and “a little bit mad” in the new trailer for “Cruella.”
Disney dropped its first trailer Wednesday for its live-action prequel “Cruella,” revealing the dark and twisted origins of the infamous villainess from 1961’s “101 Dalmatians.” With her signature black and white hair along with some eccentric 70s punk-rock looks, de Vil (played by Stone) is an aspiring fashion designer who attempts to make a name herself in ruthless, wicked ways — even if that means making coats from Dalmatian puppies.
“From the very beginning, I realized I saw the world very differently than everyone else,” Stone says in the trailer.
“That didn’t sit well with some people, but I wasn’t for everyone. I guess they were always scared that I would be a psycho. But a new day brings new opportunities. And I was ready to make a statement. How does the saying go? I am woman, hear me roar.”
