Cassie Randolph 'thinks it's inappropriate' that Colton Underwood keeps dredging up their past

Sources have hinted at how Cassie Randolph feels about her The Bachelor ex Colton Underwood and his controversial new docuseries.

He came out as gay this April months after his split from Cassie, who accused him of stalking her in the wake of their breakup.

‘She thinks it’s inappropriate that Colton has continuously spoken about their relationship, but understands it’s part of his journey,’ an insider told E! News the day before the show dropped on Netflix.

‘She doesn’t love that her name keeps getting brought up. She has definitely moved on from that time in her life,’ the source in her camp pointed out.

‘They went through a lot together and she prefers to not talk about that chapter, and to keep moving forward in her life,’ the insider continued.

Cassie, who is dating a musician called Brighton Reinhardt now, ‘is really happy right now and is in a healthy relationship.’

To hear the source tell it: ‘Cassie has not spoken to Colton in a very long time and they don’t have a friendship.’

Colton led the 2019 season of The Bachelor where gay guest star Billy Eichner famously teased him: ‘Maybe you’re the first gay Bachelor and we don’t even know!’

Cassie Randolph ultimately won the season and they dated for a year and half, during which she helped care for him when he had COVID-19.

Their split came in May 2020 – and then that September she succeeded in obtaining a temporary restraining order against him.

She accused Colton of stalking behavior, including alleging that he taped a tracking device under the back bumper of her car.

A police report followed in October but by November – at Cassie’s own request – the restraining order and investigation were dropped.

On the docuseries, which dropped on Netflix Friday, he said he ‘felt myself becoming more of a straight man’ while with Cassie and ‘started to spiral’ after the split.

News clippings about the stalking scandal flashed across the screen as Colton said: ‘I was f***ed up. I was suppressing my sexuality so hard that I was taking medication daily to deal with depression and anxiety and that made me a paranoid freak.’

He added: ‘I didn’t trust a whole lot of people and I was trying to do anything and everything I could to protect a secret.’

Then text from Cassie’s restraining order appeared and Colton admitted in a confessional: ‘I lost my mind and I did some things, I said some things that I’m not proud of and that’s not me making excuses for what I did because I did f*** up. I made mistakes and I will take ownership in that.’

In a conversation with a friend he emotionally revealed that he ‘hit rock bottom’ following the breakup and ‘took a lot of Xanax, like not thinking I was gonna wake up the next morning. And I did. It was pretty bad.’

Near tears he said: ‘And I think that was like for me, like, I only have one life. Something’s gotta change or I’m not gonna be here.’

Colton, who has spent the past few months dating political strategist Jordan C. Brown, recently offered some rare insight into the romance.

‘I wasn’t really pursuing dating at first. But since then I found somebody and I am very much in love,’ the heartthrob shared with People.

He also explained why he is so protective of the relationships privacy, saying: ‘After The Bachelor I learned the boundaries and healthiness of having a private relationship. Everybody went through my breakup and the ups and downs of my dating life. It’s nice for me to have something for myself.’

Yet he did gush of Jordan that ‘I’m the luckiest person to have him in my life,’ and said the political strategist is a ‘great support.’

The show bowed on Netflix shortly after a trailer where he apologized to the women he dated and ‘misled’ while in the closet.

”I didn’t want to be gay, but the main voices in my head were just telling me: “You’ll get through this, you’ll get through this,”‘ he said. ‘I never thought I was going to come out, I thought I was going to die with this secret.’

Colton also confessed: ‘The reason I’m coming out is because I’m ashamed and I’m sort of mortified of what got me in this position in the first place.’

He added: ‘I put a poor girl through hell [because] of my own insecurities. I was starting to hurt other people outside of just myself.’

Colton became the first openly gay Bachelor this April when he came out of the closet on Good Morning America.

During a subsequent Variety interview he did not directly admit to Cassie’s allegations but said he was ‘sorry’ for how he acted.

‘Controlling situations to try to grasp at any part of the straight fantasy that I was trying to live out was so wrong,’ he said.

He said he came out to his publicist months before doing so publicly because ‘I, at one point, during my rock bottom and spiral, was getting blackmailed.’

After visiting a spa popular with gay men ‘just to look,’ he got an email from an unidentified sender who purported to have nudes of Colton at the venue.

Although Colton has not seen any such pictures himself, the prospect of being outed with them was enough of a scare that he confided in his publicist.
