Britney Spears’ mother Lynne wants the pop singer’s estate to pay for her legal fees, despite her daughter claiming yesterday that she was the real mastermind behind her 13-year conservatorship ordeal.
Lynne, 66, filed a petition Monday requesting Britney’s estate pay $600,000 in attorney fees that she has incurred being involved in the conservatorship case.
PageSix reports that although Lynne has never had a formal role in the case, she is considered to be an ‘interested party’ and her lawyers want her incurred costs to come ‘out of the conservatorship estate or assets on hand’ according to court documents.
Per the report, Lynne’s lawyers at Jones Swanson in Louisiana and Ginzburg & Bronshteyn in Los Angeles ran up charges for services such as meetings, phone calls, emails, preparation of documents and court appearances.
Lynne is said to be described in the court documents as a ‘very concerned mother’ who is said to have detailed ‘a very disturbing story of her daughter’s life and the unreasonable restrictions under which [Britney] suffered.’
These include serious claims including Britney being ‘involuntarily moved from her home, not being allowed to travel to Louisiana for a Spears family Christmas’ and what Lynne pronounced ‘as an extended stay in a medical facility against Britney’s will.’
Her version of events: Yesterday, Britney claimed that it was her mother Lynne who was the real mastermind behind her conservatorship ordeal
Britney’s mother also mentions the ‘daily restrictions on’ and ‘microscopic control’ the conservatorship had over the singer’s life.
Lynne claims that Britney was given a ‘paltry, unexplained weekly allowance’ and was prevented from driving her own car and had ‘prohibitions on visitors to her home, including her boyfriend and even her children’s friends.’
Arguing the case as to why Britney’s estate should foot the bill, Lynne claimed in her petition that her daughter had ‘enthusiastically agreed’ to her getting involved in the conservatorship case as an interested party in a bid to ‘help end [Britney’s] nightmare and the crisis she was enduring.’
However, these claims are in stark contrast to a deleted social media post from Britney herself yesterday.
She accused her mother Lynne of being the architect of the conservatorship that has restricted her every move for the last 13 years, fuming in an angry Instagram post: ‘You know exactly what you did.’
Britney swiftly deleted the text, in which she launched an astonishing attack on her mother.
Lynne Spears has tried to take Britney’s side in her row with her father Jamie, Lynne’s ex-husband, over the conservatorship.
But the singer has repeatedly rejected her overtures, and on Tuesday said her mother was the true villain in the sorry saga.
‘My dad is not smart enough to ever think of a conservatorship,’ Britney said.
The singer posted a message on Instagram reading: ‘The most dangerous animal in the world is a silent smiling woman’.
She captioned the image: ‘My dad may have started the conservatorship 13 years ago … but what people don’t know is that my mom is the one who gave him the idea.
‘I will never get those years back.
‘She secretly ruined my life … and yes I will call her and Lou Taylor out on it … so take your whole ‘I have NO IDEA what’s going on’ attitude and go f*** yourself!!!!’
