Bake Off judge Prue Leith, 81, poses as she gets her Covid booster jab – after Boris Johnson renewed calls for the public to get vaccinated


Prue Leith posed for snaps as she got her Covid booster jab at a health centre in Oxford on Wednesday. 

The Bake Off judge, 81, looked in good spirits as she protected herself against the virus during her visit to the surgery in Chipping Norton. 

It comes as Boris Johnson this week renewed calls for people to get vaccinated and get their boosters ahead of Christmas after the arrival of the Omicron variant.

Prue looked casual in a red padded gilet which she teamed with a striped top and black jeans. 

She looked in good spirits in the pictures where she wore her typically stylish glasses and jewellery.

It comes after last December Prue took to social media to show herself having her first coronavirus vaccine ‘with a painless jab’.

The celebrity chef uploaded a picture of a male nurse giving her the Pfizer/BioNTech injection.

She tweeted: ‘Who wouldn’t want immunity from #Covid19 with a painless jab?? #vaccine.’

Fellow GBBO host Noel Fielding commented: ‘Always the most classy glamorous person in the room x love you Prue x.’

Winner of the 9th series of the show in 2018 Dr Rahul Mandal said: ‘Yes!! You just look as gorgeous in the tent as when you are taking your jab!!’

And Paul Hollywood added: ‘Well done Prue x.’

Meanwhile Boris Johnson added: ‘Great news Prue! Wonderful to see so many in the UK getting vaccinated.

Covid booster jabs will be offered to everyone in England who is eligible by the end of January, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said this week.

Mr Johnson said the government would be ‘throwing everything’ at the campaign so everyone can get a third jab.

People will be invited to book a booster three months after their second vaccine dose.

The rollout was expanded in response to the emerging Omicron variant, which could be more infectious than Delta.
