Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta storms off after heated full-time incident with Claudio Ranieri

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta stormed off in anger after the Spaniard and Claudio Ranieri were embroiled in a heated discussion after the full-time whistle. The Gunners claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over the Hornets, with a potential foul not given in the build-up perhaps the source of Watford’s anger.

A single goal is all it took for Arsenal who were pushed all the way by Watford on a tough afternoon.

Quick feet from Ben White created an opening after half time, and Emile Smith Rowe was on hand to fire home an emphatic finish.

The strike was not without controversy, however, as a potential foul on Ismaila Sarr in the build-up prompted fury on the Watford bench.

Juraj Kucka’s red card rubbed salt in Hornets’ wounds with minutes left to play, and the Gunners survived a late barrage of pressure to emerge victorious.
