Australian singer Amy Shark has apologised after making a rather awkward and equally hilarious gaffe while performing in concert in Brisbane recently. 

The 35-year-old performed a show in Brisbane as part of her Cry Forever tour, but accidentally thought she was on the Gold Coast and named the wrong city when talking to the crowd.

On Monday, Amy apologised to her devoted fans and shared a video of the moment from her show that has since gone viral, calling herself a ‘hot mess’.

‘I’m super stoked that it’s made its way onto the internet, one of my finest moments on stage,’ she said with a laugh. 

‘Just because I forget where I was for a second, I think it was half a second I was pretty quick – doesn’t mean we didn’t have fun right?’

In the clip from her show, Amy yells out a hello to the Gold Coast, forgetting she was in Brisbane.

‘Hey Gold Coast!’ she said as the crowd noticed her mistake. 

‘Brisbane! F**k Gold Coast. Gold Coast f**king hell,’ Amy went, correcting herself.

She also apologised to her Gold Coast-based fans, hailing from the city herself.

‘Also sorry Gold Coast, I’m sorry for swearing at you, I was having a slight panic attack that night and I threw you under the bus and I shouldn’t have done that as you’re my home town and I love you. But please forgive me okay bye,’ she finished. 

Amy is set to play in Darwin, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne on her tour, with dates running into next year.
