And Alison Hammond left Dermot O’Leary in hysterics as she broke This Morning’s Christmas decorations just 10 seconds into the show on Friday. 

The presenter, 46, was waving her arms in enthusiasm when she whacked a china nutcracker onto the ground and destroyed the figurine.

Alison gushed: ‘Welcome to your Friday’s this morning!’ before halting and admitting: ‘I’ve literally just thrown over the Nutcracker.’ 

Dermot lamented:  ‘Oh! How can you do that to the Nutcracker!’ as Alison scrambled to pick up the pieces of the festive decoration. 

‘Let me get it! It’s actually smashed. I’m so sorry. I got all enthusiastic and look what I’ve done!’ she frowned as Dermot burst out in peals of laughter.   

‘I came into this beautiful studio and it was all Christmassy and I’ve already broken something!’ Alison reflected as she attempted to hold the pieces of the Nutcracker together with her hands.

Dermot comforted her: ‘You’re my favourite clutz!… You’ve surprised us early on.’   

Alison replied: ‘I think I’m still cold from Lapland,’ as she attempted to figure out how she’d managed to break the set so early into the show.
